The House Mouse – Mus domesticus
Mouse Identification: Brown to grey with a lighter underside. Adults weigh around 10 to 25g, have large ears, small eyes and a tail that is just shorter than its body’s length.
Mouse Biology: Their normal life span is 3 to 4 months. Mice are prolific breeders and are able to produce 5 to 8 litters per year with the litters size averaging between 4 and 8. These will hit maturity within 6 to 8 weeks. Due to this rapid breeding processes it does not take long before you have a major mice infestation. Mice can live both indoors or outdoors. They can survive without drinking water gaining enough water from their food. Eating small amounts of one thing at a time consuming around 5g per day.
